2. Bitterballen ('bit-ter-bah-len'): These deep-fried meatballs are a typical Dutch snack, often enjoyed with mustard. Café de Gaeper and Café Hesp are popular spots to indulge in this treat. Don’t forget to let it cool down when you taste it. ;)

3. Poffertjes ('pof-fur-tjes'): These small, fluffy pancakes are served with powdered sugar and butter. Visit the Poffertjes stand at the Albert Cuyp Market or Pancakes Amsterdam for the tastiest poffertjes. They’re almost too cute to eat!

4. Herring ('hah-ring'): Raw herring served with onions and pickles is a traditional Dutch delicacy. Try it at one of the herring stalls along the Amsterdam canals or at fish stands in markets like the Albert Cuyp Market. You either hate it or love it.

5. Pea Soup ('air-ten-soop'): This hearty soup is made from split peas, vegetables, and smoked sausage. For an authentic pea soup experience, you can visit traditional Amsterdam eateries like Moeders or Greetje. Dutch often eat it from their grandmother’s recipe. ❤️

7. Kibbeling ('ki-buh-ling'): Deep-fried pieces of battered fish, usually cod or haddock, are very popular street food. Try kibbeling at one of the fish stalls at the Albert Cuyp Market or at Vishandel Albert Cuyp. Our favorite sauce with the dish is a 100% remoulade sauce! 

8. Apple Pie ('ah-pel-tart'): Made with a buttery crust, spiced apples, and often topped with whipped cream, Amsterdam apple pie is a must-try dessert. Head to Winkel 43 or Café Papeneiland for a delicious slice. A warm slice is even better.
